MAKE A DAY OF IT
WildFlyer is writing a new chapter in a 130 year old story.
WildFlyer Mead was born on the oldest, continuous beekeeping operation in Texas - BeeWeaver Honey Farm. We are so excited to have you visit our beautiful tasting room located right here on the farm
and…
we are now so excited to open our brand new (to us — the building was originally built back in the 1920s) production facility, tasting room, and kitchen in beautiful, historic downtown navasota
We’d love to have you out to relax with us in the country. Escape the city life and have a glass of mead or two. Sit in our tasting room or out on our porch while listening to the buzz of the honeybees. OR — come enjoy downtown Navasota. Pop into our tasting room, have a beer, mead, and lunch — then take a drink to go and walk around downtown.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which Tasting Room should i visit?
A: Great question! It depends on that atmosphere you want. Our tasting room on the farm is a quiet, relaxing setting in the country. It’s where it all started. Come see the bees, taste the honey, and our meads. This is also our dog and kid friendly location since we have acres of grass for them to roam. For food, we offer rotating food trucks on weekends, so the menu is always changing. Our Downtown Navasota tasting room and kitchen is set in the heart of Navasota’s growing historic Railroad District. Yes, it’s a small town, but there’s a lot to do. Come ready to shop, eat, and walk. We have a full kitchen to serve you. Downtown is also open container (for walking, not driving), so you when you’re done hanging out, you can still take a glass to go and continue to enjoy downtown.
The short version: either one. We offer our amazing meads (and now beers!) at both locations, so you can’t go wrong with either one.
Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: You do not need a reservation to come and hang out at either location. You can have a glass and do a tasting at any time that we are open. You only need a reservation if you would like a formal tour and tasting. Tours are booked at the Reservations tab found at the top of the page.
Q: Do you Serve Food? can I bring food?
A: We offer food at both locations. We have a full kitchen at our Downtown Navasota location, so we do not allow outside food. We host a rotating schedule of food trucks on weekends at the farm. Thursdays and Fridays, we offer some light food options. We do allow outside food at the farm due to the variability. However, we much prefer that you support our food vendors.
Q: Are your meads gluten free?
A: Yes, all our meads are naturally gluten free. Our beers are not.
Q: Are you dog friendly?
A: YES! We love dogs. Please just keep them on a leash. We have plenty of room outside on our porch and in our yard for dogs. If you want to make it a dog day, we encouarage you to visit our BeeWeaver Farm Tasting Room location. We have lots of room for dogs to explore. We do allow them inside depending on the situation (please check with staff). At our Downtown location, we prefer you to keep dogs out on our patio and on the lawn. Just please keep in mind that we are downtown.
Q: Can I book your facility and/or do you have a private room?
A: Yes, visit the ‘Book the Meadery’ button at the top for how to get in contact. We have a private room at both facilities to rent, or you can rent the whole dang place. Make sure to ask about catering, too. Please specify which facility you are interested in, or ask for recommendation if you aren’t sure.
Tours and Tastings
We are currently only offering tours at our farm facility. Once we get settled Downtown, we will offer a tour there as well.
Honey, Mead production, and tasting experience - $20 pp
Up to 15 people. For larger groups, please call to schedule. Total Time: approximately 30-45 minutes
The experience begins with a tour of the one of BeeWeaver’s obervation bee yards. We will discuss the history of the farm, the beekeeping operation, and general beekeeping.
